About Batabay

Batabay is a mobile platform that allows users to create listings, agree on swaps, and exchange value in a controlled environment. Batabay is not a buy-and-sell marketplace and does not act as a financial institution.

How Batabay Works

1. Create a Batabay account
2. Upload listings with images and descriptions
3. Agree on a swap with another user
4. Chat privately after mutual agreement
5. The user making an offer uses an Offer Pass to submit the offer

Users cannot chat unless a swap is agreed. Chat is limited to the two users involved in the agreed offer.

Offer Pass & Payments

Batabay uses an Offer Pass as a prepaid access feature. The user who initiates an offer is required to use an Offer Pass to submit that offer and request a swap.

• 1 Offer Pass equals 1 GHS
• Offer Passes are a prepaid access feature, not a currency, and cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or redeemed for cash
• Payments are processed by third-party providers
• Batabay does not store card or mobile money details

How to Use Chat Safely

Batabay is designed to keep user interactions limited, intentional, and safe. In-app chat is only available after two users have mutually agreed to a swap.

• Use chat only to arrange a date, time, and safe public location to exchange items
• Always meet in public places
• There is no need to exchange phone numbers or social media details
• Keep all communication within the Batabay app for your safety
• Never send or hand over listing items before meeting in person

Privacy Policy

Batabay respects user privacy and collects only the data required to operate the platform.

In-App Chat Usage

Batabay provides a restricted in-app chat feature strictly for users who have mutually agreed to a swap. The purpose of this chat is to allow both users to coordinate logistics such as date, time, and a public, safe location to complete the agreed exchange.

Users are not required to share personal contact details, and Batabay does not display phone numbers, email addresses, or other contact information between users.

Data We Collect

• Account information (email or phone number)
• Listing images and descriptions
• Private messages between users who agree to a swap

Data We Do Not Collect

• No analytics or tracking
• No advertising identifiers
• No payment credentials

Children’s Privacy

Batabay is not intended for children under the age of 18.

Data Deletion

Users may delete their account and associated data at any time by submitting a deletion request to Batabay support.

To delete your account: Click the link below to send an email to our support team. Include your account email and a request to permanently delete your account and all associated data.

Partial Data Deletion: Click the link below to send an email to our support team. Include your account email and a request to delete part of your account data.

Request Partial Account Deletion

User may also choose to deactivate account directly within the Batabay app using the built-in deactive account feature.
